TechTracks

Computer World has an interesting article about a Technology Camp for Teens at the Memphis Public Library.  What a great opportunity to identify the library as the place to learn about emerging technologies!  Go Here

I’ve been finding more tutorials and videos to support your Learning 2.0 programs. They are all posted on our TechTrax Page. I am updating often and will post when I add new things.

Go watch the videos about Twitter from David Free and David Lee King.

I’ve posted updated PowerPoint slides from the podcasting/vodcasting classes. These slides now include many screenshots from Libsyn and Feedburner. We had some technical difficulties at one site and were not able to get to all of the sites so I wanted to make sure you had a nice overview of what these sites can do for you. I have also posted FAQs from the classes and a few recent articles that relate. If you have further questions, please contact me at stetterton@statelibrary.sc.gov. I’d be happy to help. Have a great afternoon!

I wanted to thank everyone who attended the podcasting classes in Greenville last Thursday. I appreciated all of the discussion and questions and will be sure to post FAQs to LibraryTrax as soon as all classes are finished. I have posted the PowerPoint slides as well as a sample handout to the Podcasting area of this blog. I have another handout I will try to post later this week. Both handouts can be revised and used by your libraries for future training. The remaining podcasting classes are this week (Florence - Tues; Columbia - Wed; Charleston - Thurs). I look forward to seeing some of you in those classes. Don’t forget to check out our Del.icio.us account too. Julie has been posting all kinds of great links there for all the classes! http://del.icio.us/techtracks. Have a great day!

I updated the Instant Messaging page now that we have finished all the classes. I added the powerpoint presentation and some questions & answers from each of the classes. Be sure to check out the question on saving away messages in meebo, which is now available.

Teaching this class was a great experience; I loved the “ah-ha” moments as people learned to instant message and start thinking about how their libraries could benefit. Thanks again for the patience every class had with the technical issues we encountered. Let us know if you have any additional questions or comments.
