Many of the library blogs are writing about a recent post byLaura Cohen’s post on the library 2.0 manifesto. She raises issues that all of us need to be thinking about in today’s changing world of libraries. Take a look and make some comments!

I saw an item about this on Michael Stephens’ Tame the Web. It’s worth repeating here. Check out this fantastic image for the virtual reference service at the University of Guelph Library in Canada. There are more posted on Flickr.

Good morning, all!

Our first blogging classes, the first in our series of L2 classes called TechTracks, were a rip-roaring success. We gathered on Thursday in Greenville, SC with almost 30 public library folks and discussed Bloglines, Blogger, WordPress, and the benefits of blogging for libraries. The evaluations were good, but even better, I logged into our blog this morning and found that several people from the classes had linked to our blog from their own.  How exciting!!

If enthusiasm is any indication of future success, I think we’ll be seeing the birth of many new blogs from SC libraries.   We’ve asked that our new bloggers send us links to their work.  We’ll post them here on a new page called “SC Library Blogs.”  Keep visiting this list, and watch it grow.
Library 2.0….here we come!
